Project Overview

Westminster Project Services Ltd provided comprehensive end-to-end project management and construction delivery for global sleep brand TEMPUR® across two structurally distinct UK launches. Acting as the central coordination hub, our team managed the full project lifecycle from initial landlord handovers to final fit-out, MEP integration, and operational handover. The broad objective was to successfully deploy TEMPUR’s premium global brand identity across two entirely different commercial scales: a large-capacity experiential outlet store at Braintree Village and an optimised boutique high street format in Marlow, managing all specialist contractors, landlord review boards, and local municipal authorities throughout the process.

 

Scope of Work

• Phase 1: Pre-Construction & Approvals Coordination: Translated TEMPUR’s strict global retail design guidelines into actionable, site-specific operational plans. We established immediate communication with the Braintree Village design review committee, Marlow planning authorities, and structural engineers to secure early landlord approvals, shopfront modifications, and local planning clearances.

• Phase 2: Procurement & Specialist Contractor Sourcing: Directed the competitive tendering and procurement process to onboard pre-qualified retail fit-out contractors. Supervised the manufacturing of bespoke modular joinery, multi-tier perimeter wall displays, and dedicated product displays.

• Phase 3: Structural Infrastructure & MEP Integration: Engineered critical foundational and technical updates across both retail sites. At Braintree, this involved routing custom under-floor electrical tracks for interactive "Zero-G" adjustable bed units. At Marlow, legacy utilities were stripped out to integrate a new concealed system.

• Phase 4: Project Delivery & Restricted-Access Logistics: Managed ongoing live logistics and on-site construction oversight under strict environmental constraints. We insulated the Braintree showroom from busy outdoor village footfall. For the tight Marlow High Street footprint, we implemented an off-site consolidation strategy with out-of-hours, just-in-time delivery schedules to completely bypass daytime town-centre loading restrictions.

• Phase 5: Operational Handover & Brand Review: Conducted final premium asset sign offs, health and safety quality compliance audits, and full operational handovers to the retail teams. Both spaces were delivered completely ready for immediate trading, meeting 100% of TEMPUR's strict retail design and compliance benchmarks.

The Marlow development successfully established the space-optimised technical blueprint for all future TEMPUR® boutique expansion models.
